What does “by invitation” mean?
BlackCard Tax takes on a limited number of clients so each one receives personal attention. Start with the intake; every request is reviewed personally, and we will reach out if it is a good fit.
Who actually prepares my return?
Christian personally reviews every return. He is your point of contact from intake to filing, so you never have to explain your situation twice.
How fast will I hear back?
You will get a personal reply, usually within one business day. During the busiest weeks of tax season it can take a little longer, but you will always hear from a person.
What documents do you need?
For a business, we need a P&L, plus a balance sheet if you are a corporation or partnership. If you do not have those, 12 months of bank and credit card statements works. Please download them as PDFs from online banking rather than sending photos or scans.
How do I send my documents securely?
Once you are onboarded, you upload everything through the Canopy client portal. Please never send tax documents by email. We never collect SSNs on this website.
What is the BlackCard Tax Review?
It is a short, plain-English review of your year, delivered with your return. It covers what happened, what changed, and a few opportunities worth discussing for the year ahead.
Do you work with businesses, rentals and IRS letters?
Yes. We work with self-employed clients, small businesses, rental properties and IRS notices. Mention anything like this in your intake so we can plan for it.
How long does a return take once everything is in?
It depends on the complexity of your situation and the time of year. We will give you a timeline at onboarding and keep you updated along the way.
Do you work year-round?
Yes. Planning check-ins are available during the year, and the Year-Round add-on covers bookkeeping, quarterly estimates and IRS notice support.
How does pricing work?
You pay a flat fee based on the complexity of your return, quoted in writing before any work starts. Essentials starts at $275, Business at $450 and Advisory at $1,200. We never charge a percentage of savings.
Is BlackCard connected to ProTax Plus?
Yes. BlackCard Tax is affiliated with PTP Advisors / ProTax Plus, and Christian is your single point of contact.
Do you work with clients outside San Antonio?
